Hello! I’m Melissa Jackson, the creator and owner of The Toy Restore®, based in beautiful Chilliwack, BC, Canada.
I’ve been restoring and re-imagining toys for many years — long before toy upcycling became popular. My journey started in 1998, when I began selling restored toys and custom decals on eBay, later expanding to Etsy and my own website.
With a background in graphic design, fine arts, drafting, welding, computers, electronics, and physics, I love combining creativity with technical know-how to bring toys back to life. I’ve always enjoyed making beautiful, functional things — and fixing them when they break.
A Love for Quality Toys
As a mother of three, I’ve seen firsthand how imaginative play helps children grow. I’ve always preferred classic, battery-free toys — the kind that encourage creativity and storytelling.
Vintage toys, like Little Tikes®, Step 2®, Fisher-Price®, and Playskool®, were built to last. Most just need a little TLC and fresh decals to look new again. By restoring these timeless toys, we keep them out of landfills and help reduce waste — one toy at a time.
